Storm saviours

(This letter was sent to CP Eddie Hui)

On May 2 at about 8.40 am, my car broke down in Stanley Village Road amid a heavy rainstorm. To make matters worse, there was a landslide nearby.

Fortunately, three Police officers arrived. One of them, surnamed Ho, got out and helped my boy and maid into the Police car before helping my husband and I in, reminding us not to leave our valuables inside our vehicle.

We were then taken home by the officer driving, who comforted us all the way. Meanwhile, Mr Ho remained at the scene for more than two hours. When the rain stopped, he informed us to return to the scene. He not only directed the traffic but also helped us to push our car to a safe place. When I thanked him for his assistance, he simply said it was only a trivial matter.

Mr Ho and his colleagues spared no efforts in helping the public in the face of danger. It was also commendable that despite the heavy rain, Mr Ho had all along been wearing a smile on his face.

I am writing to you to praise the high character and sense of responsibility of Mr Ho and his colleagues. Please also convey my sincere thanks to them.

Ms Wong
Stanley

(Note: The officers concerned were Police Constable Ho Man-chun of Patrol Sub-unit One and PC Wong Fuk-kin of the Transport Team, Stanley Sub-division.)
