Officer thanked for breakdown assistance

(This letter was sent to Traffic Headquarters)

The braking system of my car went out of order when I was driving down Wyndham Street, Central at 1 pm on April 17.

I managed to stop at a traffic light and waited there for mechanics to come and tow away my faulty car.

Despite knowing my brakes were lost, a Police Constable drove it slowly to a safer place to avoid obstructing the busy traffic - a difficult feat.

He then continued directing traffic and yet had not forgotten to comfort me. I wish to convey my heartfelt gratitude to this brave and responsible officer.

It is my hope the Government can offer more good officers like him.

(Editor's note: The officer was Police Constable Kai Wing-chung of Traffic Hong Kong Island Patrol Sub-unit One, Enforcement and Control.)
