Celebration spree as
the HKSAR turns three

The celebratory panorama

A sunny Saturday morning on July 1 saw scores of onlookers flock harbourside to witness the Flag Raising Ceremony celebrating the third anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa was on hand to officiate at the proceedings outside the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai, with numerous Government heads and other guests also in attendance.

The Force continued its traditional role in the proceedings with the Police Band providing the ceremony's musical accompaniment while officers raised the National and HKSAR Flags.

All this before the Inter-disciplinary Sea and Air Formation Salute and the colourful Guard of Honour.

Scores of Uniform and Traffic Branch officers also kept order of both human and mechanical traffic.
