Tragedy victim thanks 'professional' investigators

A man seriously injured in a car accident which claimed his wife's life, presented an appreciation banner to Kowloon West Traffic officers on September 1 for their professionalism in investigating the complicated yet tragic accident.

T KW Senior Superintendent Mark Buxton accepted the pennant on behalf of the Special Investigation Team Two officers, presented by accident victim Tsu Hok-leung at a ceremony in the Mong Kok Police Station Mess. Mr Tsu has since recovered from his injuries and thanked the team for their thorough investigation.

He and his wife were aboard a taxi which collided with a car at the junction of Waterloo and Hereford Roads on January 23. The lengthy investigation found the 21-year-old car driver had jumped the red lights at high speed and he was convicted of reckless driving causing death and sentenced to four months prison and disqualified from driving for four years at San Po Kong Court on August 3.
