The first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Police and Security Forces Sports Exchange was held October 16 to 21.

Macau played host to the inaugural event, which in part celebrated the former Portuguese enclave's return to Mainland sovereignty.

Commissioner Eddie Hui Ki-on led the Hong Kong delegation of almost 60, including Deputy Commissioner (Management) Tsang Yam-pui and Director of Management Services Douglas Lau Yuk-kuen, to a strong overall second place in the historic event.

The Force did well to win a number of gold, silver and bronze medals in several competitions, such as the 11-a-side football, shooting and table tennis.
