Parting shot: DPT Robin Leung with the Shanghainese visitors outside the POC

A batch of instructors from the Shanghai Public Security College completed a two-week consolidated policing course with the Force on January 20.

They were the first of three batches from the college to attend the course at the Police Training School. Thirty officers would be trained in total, the second and third batches arriving February 26 and March 19.

Aimed at enhancing co-operation and interaction between the Force and Mainland agencies, the course introduced many types of PTS training such as classroom lessons and the demonstration and use of firearms and tactics.

Ideas and experiences were also discussed between the students and PTS instructors.

Arrangements were made for the study teams to visit numerous formations such as Emergency Units, Police Tactical Units and the Psychological Services Group.

Director of Personnel and Training Robin Leung Fung-shun presented certificates to the graduates, with Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Tang King-shing, PTS Commandant Wong Pak-nin, and course co-ordinators Superintendent Chung Koon-ying and Chief Inspector Johnson Kwok Hay-lung also attending the ceremony.
