Central District's Spring Reception featured all of the glitz and pomp of Hollywood . . . Road!

More than 300 people attended Central District's spring reception on January 31.

Held in the 150-year-old monument complex in the Central Police Station compound, Hong Kong Island Regional Commander Eric Leung Chi-bun and Central District Commander Mike Francis launched the function with scores of guests from local organisations and government departments in attendance.

Meanwhile, Mr Leung reviewed a troop of 500 youths in the HKI Road Safety Patrol Annual Inspection 2001 at the Police Training School on February 11. After the inspection, Mr Leung presented awards to 15 members who rendered distinguished services to the Patrol in the past year.

  • Sham Shui Po District held a series of fight-crime awareness drives over the winter. District Commander Lung Hung-cheuk joined several District Fight Crime Committee members and officers to distribute leaflets, calendars and 'fai chun' carrying fight crime messages to residents, shop owners and shopkeepers on January 9.

    A seminar on security matters was held on January 11 at SSPo Police Station with 50 local residents and shop owners in attendance.

  • The New Century Fight Crime Parade, organised by the 18 District Fight Crime Committee, was held at Whampoa Garden on February 10.

    Senior Superintendent (Public Relations) Alan Fan Sik-ming was one of a number of guests officiating, and the day featured video shows, Robotcop and the ever-popular Crime Prevention Bus.
