Cheung Chau facelift unveiled

After extensive renovation, the new-look Cheung Chau Police Station opened its pristine new doors on February 21.

Scores of guests toured the station to sample its new facilities and improvements, which included advanced computer systems, a resource centre with Internet services, simplified reporting procedures, a redesigned duty room, new interview rooms, a workplace for CID officers, and an automatic security system.

Modern facilities for the disabled were also featured, while the redesigned Report Room provided top amenities for both officers and customers. Marine Regional Commander Spencer Foo Tsun-kong officiated at the opening ceremony with Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Harry Blud, Marine Deputy Regional Commander Ng Chee-kin and community leaders in attendance.

Part of the Force Customer Service Improvement Project, the ceremony marked a great step forward in Police services provided to residents and visitors to outlying islands.

Guests touring the station congratulated the Force on the top new facilities, which they believed would raise the quality and efficiency of Police services there.
