Triad tuition for Aussie police

CIB SSP Peter Pang and DSIP David Wan with Australian Police in Melbourne

Senior Superintendent Peter Pang and Detective Senior Inspector David Wan of the Criminal Intelligence Bureau recently conducted a triad course for Australian Federal Police officers and other agencies in Sydney and Melbourne.

The course gave valuable insights into triad culture, including initiation ceremonies, structure and rituals.

The course also looked at anti-triad laws and other measures to sever their international connections. It was the second triad course held overseas, the first conducted in 1997 for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The Force Triad Course for Overseas Law Enforcement Agencies has been run annually in Hong Kong since 1995, attracting delegates from around the world. The next course was tentatively set for January/February 2002.
