EU NTN victorious in soccer slam

New Territories North Emergency Unit beat Tai Po District to take home the highest honours of the 2000-2001 Police Inter-District Football Competition on May 29.

The NTN boys won by a nail biting 1-0 in the Champion of Champions matches at the Police Sports and Recreation Club, to take the crown and the Division A League, capping off an eight-month season that saw 44 teams battle in 200 matches.

They out-played TP District, victor of the 11-a-side Knockout competition, and Division B League champ EU Hong Kong Island.

Police Football Club Chairman Albert Kwok Cho-kuen and Hong Kong Island Regional Commander Eric Leung Chi-bun presented the prizes.

Division A and B runners-up were Tsuen Wan and TP Districts respectively, while Yau Tsim came second in the Knockout. Top Scorer Awards went to Identification Bureau Police Constable Hui Kam-lung (Div A) and TP District PC Kwok Chung-yau (Div B). The Most Sporting Team prizes went to Crime Kowloon East (Div A) and MTR District (Div B).

Meanwhile, Referee Service Awards were presented to Marine East Division Sergeant Chow Kwok-hung, Auxiliary Headquarters PC Cheung Kam-kwai, TW Division PC Ronnie Lui Chung-hon and Mong Kok District Workman II Cheung Chi-keung.
