Model citizens: D OPS Ng Wai-kit with several good citizens award recipients

Magician Lau Yin-wai was among 40 people commended as exemplary good citizens by Director of Operations Ng Wai-kit at Ocean Terminal, Tsim Sha Tsui, on June 14.

Mr Lau mediated in a family dispute in Yuen Long in November. He and 37 other men and two women aged 15 to 51, each received a certificate and cash reward for their civic-mindedness in helping Police arrest some 40 suspects involved in a variety of crimes, including robbery, theft, wounding and indecent assault.

D OPS was joined by other officiating guests, including Fight Crime Committee member Chow Wai-kam and Gerry Ma from the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce in commending the awardees' courage, vigilance and tact, saying they had set a good example to the community.
