NTS waltz off with Wallis Trophy

New Territories South won the annual Force Lawn Bowls Competition on June 28, outdoing seven other teams from different Regions and Headquarters units to take the coveted Wallis Trophy.

The preliminary round-robin stage and semi-finals were played in April and May, with NTS and Kowloon East successfully battling to the final.

Originally scheduled for May 30, the showdown was postponed to June 28 due to inclement weather.

However, the elements were unco-operative yet again on the revised date and the committee arranged for the final to be played at the Ap Lei Chau Indoor Lawn Bowls Centre for the first time in Wallis Trophy history.

After a tight game, Mike Howard captained the NTS team to victory while KE, and the Training and Crime Wings won first, second and third runners-up places respectively.

The Trophy aimed to promote healthy lifestyles and lawn bowls to Force members, and attract newcomers to the Police Lawn Bowls Team.

Those interested can contact Police Lawn Bowls Club Convenor K.K. Yeung on 9075-7952.
