Bear facts at the POC

Does a bear live in the woods? Find out August 16 at 6.30 pm when the Police Officers' Club and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals present a fascinating look at the Bears of China. The talk is free but please book with reception on 2591-1911.

Would you like to rent a changing room locker? Forms are now available at reception, and the closing date for applications is August 20. The cost is $200 for 12 months, and if there are more applications than lockers a lucky draw will be conducted. Existing locker holders, please return your keys by September 20.

What's a Guardian Pass? It's a scheme to help busy parents by allowing the children of members (under 10) to use the swimming pool accompanied by a nominated guardian.

Each Principal Member's family may apply for one pass only, and it may be used only for swimming sessions before 4.30 pm on weekdays (not Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays). The pass is valid until August 31, and application forms are available at reception.

The great Tabasco promotion continues in August, with special spicy dishes in the TSK Hall, Beat Cafe and Verandah Bar.

How about red pepper stuffed with minced shrimp, or stir-fried Mexican beef sandwich, or even penne pasta with octopus, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and asparagus? Order any Tabasco dish and receive a special souvenir gift.

What a hot deal!

TSK Hall

* In response to members' feedback, there will be no singing in the TSK Hall on Wednesday or Sunday evenings. Jim Lau will perform on Mondays and Tuesdays, Lucia from Thursday to Saturday, with an extended dance floor and more music on Thursday evenings.

* Now available, mouth-watering fresh fruit and vegetable juices all for just 14 bucks! There's bitter squash and pineapple, carrot and celery, cucumber and tomato, water melon and honeydew melon, grapefruit and orange.

Grill Room and Beat Cafe

* A sizzling Japanese set menu is now available; grilled whole scallop, prawn sharshlik, diced fillet beef with garlic, sauteed assorted vegetables, Japanese fried rice, miso soup, sesame ice cream, and a coconut juice for an incredible $88 per person!

* Kids' Merry Meals continue, with a free toy with every order.

Verandah Bar

* Joy of joys! San Miguel return for a promotion in August - a little bit wild!
