Thirteen officers from various formations and the Hong Kong Island Emergency Unit were presented with awards at the Police Staff Suggestions (PSSS) and Motivation Schemes (PSMS) Award Presentation Ceremony held on July 27.

Woman Police Constable Cheung Oi-yee received dual gold certificates and cash awards. WPC Cheung proposed setting up a database of secondary school email contact details in order to facilitate efficiency and accuracy when contacting them and also improving directional signage to fireworks viewing areas in order to facilitate better crowd management during festivals.

Other PSSS awardees were Chief Inspectors Kerry Carew and Fan Kwok-wah, Senior Inspector Mok Hing-Wing, Sergeants Chau Chiu-hung and Wong Kwok-keung, PCs Chung Chi-on, Cheung Sing-nin, Chan Wai-kit, Lee Kwai-kui and Lo Ho-bun, WPC Ma Peng-yee and Police Translator II Kwok Tak-ming for their various suggestions including improving police forms and procedures.

EU HKI was the only PSMS awardee for their suggestion regarding the relocation of the microphone unit in large EU vans.

Officiating at the ceremony, Director of Management Services Fung Siu-yuen noted that Work Improvement Teams had emerged as one of the idea generators for the improvement of the Force. Their suggestions would be automatically considered as PSSS or PSMS submissions.
