TW JPC get bronze awards

Despite the heat JPC members help an elderly resident

JPC members ... learning to survive

Twenty-six Tsuen Wan Junior Police Call members were among the Bronze Award recipients at the Hong Kong Award for Young People presentation ceremony held on August 15 having successfully completed a series of activities in the past year as a precondition of consideration for an award.

First aid and survival skills topped the agenda for participants on Tung Lung Chau in March. They also received canoe and raft-building training at the Caritas Siu Tong Camp in Sai Kung in July, and performed various community services including disseminating fight crime messages in their capacity as Tsuen Wan fight crime ambassadors.

Twenty-five of the Bronze Award members also helped 18 elderly persons living alone with house cleaning duties on July 22. It took eight hours to finish all the cleaning required on a very hot day, but they were more than willing to dedicate the time in order to guarantee a thorough job.
