Hi-tech hopefuls look to future

Hong Kong visitors pose for a group photo at a water supply facilily model in Shenzhen

A delegation of Hong Kong teenagers attended a 4-day 3-night Modern Technology Camp jointly organised by the Eastern District Police Community Relations Office and Happy Valley Rotary Club from July 29 to August 1.

Winners of the Eastern District Fight Crime Information Technology Contest held earlier this year, the young participants visited hi-tech facilities in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Guangzhou. Junior Police Call Leaders and Rotary Club members swelled the ranks of participants to nearly 70.

Happy Valley Rotary Club President Wong Chiu-man stressed that the aim of the trip was to alert these young people to the rapid progress in technology industries on the Mainland and to further encourage their continued development of relevant skills to guarantee Hong Kong maintained its competitive edge.
