Marine Port fight crime campaign |

Marine Port District officers and Island District Fight Crime Committee members, together with over 60 fight crime ambassadors, distributed 'Help People to Help Themselves" fight crime promotional leaflets and souvenirs on Cheung Chau, Lamma Island and Peng Chau, and in the typhoon shelters in Cheung Chau, Aberdeen, Shau Kei Wan and Yau Ma Tei on October 13.
Marine Port District Commander K E Davey stated in his speech that though the crime figures in Marine Port District had dropped slightly in the last two quarters, the number of thefts from homes and vessels indicated that the public did not keep their personal property appropriately or take proper anti-burglary prevention measures, leaving opportunities open to criminals.
DC Davey appealed to residents, shop owners and people operating at sea to watch their property carefully, to lock windows and doors before leaving home and to cooperate with the Police to combat crime.
