The Force Examinations Board has endorsed this year's PC/SPC to SGT Promotion Qualifying Examination results. The Debriefing Report and the list indicating the names of successful candidates were made known on October 29 through PEN messages, whilst the list of failed candidates and their results are being sent to their respective formation commanders, who will make sure that they will receive their results soon.
The results specify candidates' performance and they are advised to refer to the Debriefing Report in order to find the correct answers and the mistakes they have made. Of the 2,686 candidates who took the exam this time, 1,467 passed and 18 were awarded distinctions. Kowloon West Emergency Unit Police Constable Chan San-fong topped the examination with a score of 95. The questions in the examination were set with particular reference to the Police Manual, Police General Orders and Force Procedures Manual. This year's pass rate was about 55 per cent.
