Representatives of a number of fishermen's associations in the district presented souvenirs on November 15 to Marine South Divisional Commander Lam Cheuk-ping and his officers in appreciaton of their efforts in reducing crime in typhoon shelters. They also thanked Station Sergeant Wong Hoi-keung and his colleagues of Police Launch '54B' for rescuing two fishermen from the sea when their vessel sank off Poi Toi on November 4.

Marine Port District Commander K E Davey also made use of the occasion to present complimentary letters to Marine Harbour Division Patrol Sub-unit One, led by Senior Inspector Lam Cheuk-yiu.

Mr Lam and his colleagues discovered 12 Mainland illegal immigrants in the concealed compartment of a Mainland trading vessel and arrested four suspected 'snakeheads' in an Operation Champion in the district in October.
