This year's Dowman Road Race will be held on February 2, 2002 at the usual venue in Sai Kung Country Park.

Assistant Commissioner Service Quality Harry Blud will start the race at 10 am while Deputy Commissioner Operations Lau Yuk-kuen will officiate at the prize presentation ceremony.

More prizes will be awarded and a new category for former regular and auxiliary officers is added this year because of the popularity of the event among former officers. Former Police Athletics Club Chairman Malcolm Philips donates a trophy for the former officers category.

The Dowman event is a tough, 12-kilometre road race. Both the starting and finishing points will locate just inside the barrier at Pak Tam Chung. You should take some fitness training before participating in the race. There will be a first aid station but you will not want to use its service.
