  • A letter was sent to a Chinese-language newspaper on January 11, stressing the importance of mutual respect and understanding between the Police and the media in the performance of their duty, following a ROA petition incident during which a photographer used foul language as well as striking the hand of a Sergeant. The photographer later apologised.

  • A letter was sent to a Chinese-language newspaper on January 14 pointing out that a police officer was not to be blamed for a three-vehicle collision on Tuen Mun Road. It explained that the officer had followed proper procedures in stopping the vehicles to clear a boulder, which was found on the middle of the freeway.
