Police give blood to save lives |
||
On the first working day of the New Year, 67 police officers and civilian staff of Tuen Mun District, Tuen Mun Division and Castle Peak Division gave a total of 28,950 cc of blood to the Red Cross. Meanwhile, the Auxiliary Police, which started a blood donation campaign last April, reported that so far over 820 Auxiliary officers have donated blood, including many senior officers and Commandant Kwok Chi-shun himself. About 26 per cent of officers who attended the Annual Continuation Training have also donated blood. The district which had the highest percentage of blood donors would be awarded with the Commandant Shield. Officers wishing to donate blood can do so by visiting the Auxiliary Police Headquarters where a Red Cross Mobile Blood Donation Van is stationed every Saturday afternoon for such purpose. |
