The Sham Shui Po District and the Sham Shui Po District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC) distributed publicity leaflets and Chinese New Year scrolls during a winter precaution campaign held last month.

The aim was to increase the residents' and shopkeepers' awareness of anti-theft measures as well as to remind them not to leave large amounts of cash and valuables at home or in their shops.

Shop owners were also requested to report to Police if any people asked them for money after handing them Chinese New Year scrolls or flowers.

Participants included SSPO District Commander Lung Hung-cheuk, SSPO DFCC Chairman Kwok Chun-wah and SSPO District Council Chairman Tam Kwok-kiu.

Members of the Anti-triad Section of the District also distributed pamphlets to wholesale fish, poultry and vegetable markets reminding them of the need to be vigilant against extortionists.
