The Police played an active role in an 18-district fight crime carnival held on January 13 at the Police Training School. Secretary for Security Regina Ip, Commissioner Tsang Yam-pui and Acting Director of Home Affairs Lui Hau-tuen officiated at the opening ceremony. Prizes were also presented to the winners of the "Help People to Help Themselves" fight crime campaign. During the day of fun, more than 2,000 visitors were entertained with singing and dancing, performance by police dogs and visits to the Tactical Training Complex. An armoured vehicle and a Robotcop were also on display. Earlier last month, the New Territories North Regional Winter Precaution Carnival was held in Yuen Long to remind residents in the Region to stay alert and step up crime prevention measures. The carnival featured game stalls, a display of home and office security equipment as well as drama performances by the elderly and Border District Junior Police Call members. NTN Regional Commander Chung Hiu-pang, the four District Commanders of the Region and the Chairmen of the North, Tai Po, Tuen Mun and Yuen Long District Fight Crime Committees were the officiating guests.
