Revolver handling course for February

Members of the Hong Kong Police Shooting Club, except those in possession of a private revolver licence, have to attend a revolver handling course before taking part in sport shooting activities with the club's revolvers.

This requirement is stipulated in the Firearm and Ammunition (Amendment) Ordinance, which came into effect on November 26, last year.

A Club spokesman pointed out that while members had been trained by the Force and permitted to carry revolvers on duty, they are nonetheless required to attend this prescribed course conducted by the Club's authorised instructors.

The Club has designed nine, 1.5-hour revolver handling courses to be held in February, and all eligible members are welcome to apply.

The spokesman said the nine courses would be held in the shooting range at the Police Sports and Recreation Club in February on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 7 pm.

Registration in person at the Club office in the PSRC is on first come, first served basis. For enquiries, please telephone 2319-0017.
