PSG services highly rated in survey

The results of a two-month Client Satisfaction Survey, carried out last September to assess the level of satisfaction regarding PSG's counselling services and to receive comments for service improvements, show that many of the clients are satisfied with the services provided.

A total of 215 questionnaires were collected, with 45 written comments / suggestions. Among the respondents, 199 clients (92.56%) said they would recommend the PSG services to their colleagues or family members in need.

The mean rating on the item "On the whole, I am satisfied with the services provided by the PSG" is 5.33, out of a 6-point scale.

The ratings of the more specific items are as follows:

Said a spokesman for the PSG: "From the above, it shows that the PSG clients are satisfied with the services they have received. In particular, the highest rating for attitude of psychologist (5.77), and closely followed by reception services (5.62). The rating for environment and facilities provided (5.28) at the two PSG offices is also significant."

With regard to the item "Through psychological services, I became more motivated to solve my own problems", which received the lowest rating among the six, the spokesman said: "This might reflect the fact that it can take time before clients feel more motivated or gain an insight into their problem-solving direction."

On written comments, improving the physical environment by providing more reading material, music or videos for relaxation at the PSG offices have been suggested. Besides, concern has been raised on the privacy as well as the quietness of the waiting area.

"Some of the respondents have also suggested that publicity of the PSG services should be increased, with emphasis on confidentiality of personal data to encourage more colleagues to seek help from the PSG, and forwarding of clients' views to the senior management," the spokesman said.

"We would like to convey PSG's gratitude to those clients for participating and for their constructive comments and suggestions. We will consider every comment sincerely with the aim of improving services to all Force members and their families."

Stress management workshops

The PSG will organise a series of stress management workshops to be conducted in Chinese.
