Congratulatory message from Acting Commissioner

Acting Commissioner Lau Yuk-kuen issued an e-mail message on January 31 congratulating officers for their "professional response" and "prompt and courageous manner" in dealing with the abortive kidnap attempt in Yau Yat Chuen on January 30.

Mr Lau said that Police effort not only foiled the armed and dangerous culprits' kidnap bid, but also led to the speedy apprehension of those suspected to be connected with this crime as they attempted to leave the HKSAR.

"I would like to extend my personal thanks to all officers who took part in the operation for their hardwork, diligence and professionalism," he added.
