A total of 10 records were broken during the Force Swimming Gala held earlier this month at the Shing Mun Valley Swimming Complex.

They were two freestyle, two breaststroke and one life-saving events in the men's individual category and two breaststrokes and one freestyle events in the women's section. The remaining two were relay events.

Altogether there were 36 events in which a total of 190 swimmers participated.

This year, the Police Swimming Club, the organiser of the gala, introduced two new competitions, namely the "family events" and the "inter-university relay".

The former includes boys/girls over/under the 15 years age group freestyle and breaststroke events, and the latter is a 4x50 metre freestyle relay among the seven universities. Polytechnic University was the winner and City University, the runner-up.

The Victor Ludorum is Senior Inspector Chan Sze-tat of Security Wing, and the Victrix Ludorum is Woman Inspector Choi Nga-wing of Wong Tai Sin District.

In the men's and women's Overall Formation Championships, the Security Wing and the Police Training School took the top honours respectively.

The Director of Management Services Fung Siu-yuen who attended the gala also presented a trophy to Marine Region for winning the "best cheering" contest.
