Representatives of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Company last month presented souvenirs to Central District Commander, Mr Wong Pak-nin, in appreciation of the district's quick response in arresting a diamond thief last June. The suspect was arrested and 123.83 carats of diamonds worth over $2 million was recovered. The man was charged and subsequently sentenced to 22 months' imprisonment.
