About 600 senior citizens and youths including JPC members and the "Caring Ambassadors" of the Mong Kok District on May 18 attended the district's fight crime and presentation ceremony held at a social service centre.

Known as the "Elderly and Youth Fight Crime Services Opening Ceremony" and "Fight Crime Slogan Writing and Presentation Competition", the event was organised by JPC, Mong Kok District.

It was aimed at conveying fight crime messages to the elderly through a series of services and activities to guard themselves against swindlers who prey on senior citizens.

During the campaign, hundreds of elderly people were taken on fight crime tours, and visits to Force formations and heritage sites.

Mong Kok District Commander, Mr To Chun-wai, and seven JPC Presidents officiated at the event, which featured fight crime slogan writing and presentation competition, Taekwondo demonstration, dance, drama and choir performances.

The best slogan selected by the officiating guests was:

"It is a waste of effort in figuring out the mind of swindlers. Don't be greedy. Be an exemplary and smart citizen.

"Assist the Police in combating crime. With concerted effort, the elderly and youths will contribute to the success in eradicating crime".
