Campaigns in Tai Po fish culture zone during moratorium

Officers of Marine North Division (MNDIV) last month participated in a keep fish culture zone clean, anti-crime and fire prevention campaigns at Sam Mun Tsai.

The campaigns, jointly organised by the Tai Po District Board and New Territories Fishermen Fraternity Association, were aimed at promoting awareness among the fishing community on the need to take measures to prevent crime and fire and keep the fishing zone clean during the two-month fish moratorium period, which began on June 1.

Legislative Councillor Wong Yung-kan; Marine North Divisional Commander, Mr Poon Tze-chung; District Officer of Tai Po, Mr Frankie Lui, and other government officials attended the opening ceremony.

Anti-crime leaflets were distributed by Officers of MNDIV after the demonstration of a fire fighting exercise jointly conducted by officers from Marine Police and Fire Service Department.
