More than 230 officers last month took part in the Force Annual Shooting Competition held in the Lower Range of the Police Training School.

The participants, including auxiliaries, were from various formations comprising Uniform Branch, Crime, Training, Security Wing and Marine.

The contest consisted of shooting from three different distances (7 metres, 15 metres and 20 metres), and in three different postures (single-handed, kneeling and shooting behind barricades).

Officers vied for team and individual championships and medals in six events, namely Uniform Branch, Crime, Open (revolver), Open (pistol), Auxiliary and Range Officer.

The Uniform Branch event attracted more than 100 officers. The Sir Robert Black Trophy for the team category was won by EU HKI, and the Commissioner's Cup for the individual category was won by Sergeant Lau Tung-yuk, also of EU HKI.

The Deputy Secretary for Works, Mr Kwok Ka-keung, who is a sharp shooter himself and former Director of Finance, Administration and Planning of the Force, and Auxiliary Commandant, Mr Kwok Chi-shun, presented the prizes to the winners.
