Luncheon for crime-fighters
Kowloon East Regional Commander Mr Mak Man-poon, in a recent luncheon he hosted for members of the Sai Kung District Council and District Fight Crime Committee, thanked all his guests for their cooperation with the Force in fighting crime in all its manifestations.
Mr Mak conceded that in the first six months of this year there had been a marked increase in overall crime levels and attributed this to the economic downturn and the large number of jobless school-leavers.
"We have, however, continued to keep serious robberies in our Region to a very low level in the first six months this year," he told his guests.
