Mr Tsang, and a number of senior Mainland and Macau officials, officiated at the ribbon cutting ceremony. The Hong Kong Police Band was invited to perform at the ceremony beside their Shenzhen counterparts, who put on a truly astonishing performance.

During the eight-day festival, arts performances, sports competitions and a Shenzhen-Hongkong-Macau Police Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition was staged at the Guanshanyue Arts Centre. Members of the Police Painting and Calligraphy Club and Junior Police Officers' Association also submitted their paintings and photographs for display.
