Commissioner Mr Tsang Yam-pui presented awards to two officers at a ceremony held at the Police Headquarters on October 25.

Police Constable, Mr Li Kin-chung, was awarded a Commissioner's Commendation for his courage, tenacity and devotion to duty of an extremely high order during an incident in Tsuen Wan on September 2 last year.

In the incident, Mr Li sustained serious chopper wounds while defending colleagues from an attack by a violent and insane individual.

A second recipient of Commissioner's Commendation was Senior Inspector, Mr Siu Man-hon. He was commended for his leadership, initiative, professional ability and devotion to duty of an exceptionally high order in the investigation of a riot at the Hei Ling Chau Correctional Services Institute on June 4, 2000.

Mr Siu's outstanding performance resulted in the successful conviction of 41 rioters for various serious criminal offences.
