The Triathlon: Very much a family affair! |
|||
The Police Triathlon Competition, organised by the Police Adventure Club, took place at Tai Mei Tuk in early October. There were 125 competitors in an event open to Force officers and their families. A triathlon event is as much a test of an individual's determination and staying power as it is of their physical fitness, and the 'healthy family lifestyle' was clearly demonstrated throughout.
Cheung Ho-hin, son of Station Sergeant Cheung Chor-ming won in the youth group category, and then ran to accompany his father to the finish. Sergeant Cheung Yuen-kwong and his brother Cheung Wai-kwong competed with the elder brother winning the third prize in the Men's Senior event. Sergeant Sin Siu-wai, his wife and his son all served as officials in the competition (the son, Sin Ying-yeung, is member of the Hong Kong Canoeing Team taking part in the Asian Games 2002 in Korea). Woman Police Constable Tam Wai-yi and her fiance Chief Inspector Neil Roy Dunn crossed the finishing line hand-in-hand. Results: Winner of the Men's Open - Mr Chow Chi-keung; Winner of the Ladies' Open - Ms Ho Kit-ying; Winner in the Youth Category - Mr Cheung Ho-nin, and Winner of the Men Senior - Mr Ho Wai-hing.
