Auxiliary Police Sports & Family Day

More than 4,000 officers, regulars and auxiliaries, and their family members took part in the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force's second Sports & Family Day during the cold and showery weather in early December. The Commandant, Mr Arthur Kwok Chi-shun, started the proceedings by a pre-performance dotting of the eyes and tongues of the traditional Chinese dancing lions.

With fortune and prosperity thus ensured, teams from nine disciplined services and voluntary organisations took part in table tennis, badminton, and tug-of-war competitions. The Correctional Services won the tug-of-war, apparently due to their physique and boots!

The general consensus was that it had been a fun day, a day to be remembered and a day to be repeated.
