A Hong Kong Police and the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau (PSB) review of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Land Boundary Police Co-operation Scheme revealed that it was progressing smoothly and effectively.

Shenzhen Municipal PSB Director, Mr Zhang Yongqiang, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner (Operations), Mr Lee Ming-kwai, visited the Lowu Border Control Point on February 27. Issues discussed and reviewed included two-way communication and further enhancement of police assistance to cross-boundary travellers.

It was agreed that there should be further enhancement of two-way communication to exchange information and that there should be more meetings between the two authorities.

On the following day, the 13-member Shenzhen PSB delegation was taken on visits to various Police facilities, including Police Tactical Unit Headquarters and the Marine Floating Base in Deep Bay. In the evening, the delegation attended a garden party hosted by Commissioner Mr Tsang Yam-pui.
