Commissioner Mr Tsang Yam-pui visited Ta Kwu Ling Division to commiserate with colleagues of the late Senior Inspector Mr Leung Bo-ming. Mr Tsang said that all members of the Force had been saddened by the death of a courageous officer who had lost his life in a gallant attempt to save a villager marooned by raging floodwaters near Lin Ma Hang village.

He urged them all to be supportive of one another when facing challenges of this nature and in handling any unfortunate results of their efforts to do their duty.

Noting that Mr Leung was buried with full Force honours at Gallant Garden, Mr Tsang said: "Though we honour his sacrifice, we also acknowledge that his death is a heavy blow to members of his family, colleagues and friends. He was a very brave man."

Paying tribute to Mr Leung, Ta Kwu Ling Divisional Commander, Mr To Wai-ching, said that he had always led by example. He was a good leader and was well liked by his colleagues. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mong Kok District Commander, Mr To Chun-wai, the former supervisor of Mr Leung, told OffBeat that Mr Leung was an experienced, responsible and helpful officer.

"All officers in the District were in deep sadness about his death," Mr To noted.
