Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) is continuing with a Youth Crime Prevention Initiative, known as the 'Schools-Multi-Agencies-Parents' Project, in which volunteer officers adopted 'Big Brother' or 'Big Sister' roles to counsel district secondary school students-at-risk.

On May 31, the SMPDIST Police Community Relations Office organised a day camp for the participants in Sai Kung. This gave an opportunity for the mentors and their paired students to know each other better and to take part in some healthy activities. It was observed that the participants quite enjoyed the programme and mutual trust was established through the adventure activities.
