Readers! You are part of a great team. Let's have your ideas for a Force slogan. Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Mr Wong Doon-yee has announced that a 'Force Slogan Design Competition' will be launched on July 2 and urges everyone to take part.

Mr Wong said: "The Force has continued to show the spirit and resolve for which it has become renowned.

"Over the past few months, our colleagues have been working professionally and diligently alongside health care workers to combat the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. Our concerted effort has won us high regard from the community we serve.

"We have a strong and effective management team leading the Force to rise to the challenges facing us. Our senior management has just completed another strategic review and is in the process of mapping out the action plan for the coming three years.

"We continue to develop Information Technology to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness and, despite the economic downturn and a budgetary constraint, we have maintained our service delivery at an exceptionally high level.

"The high customer satisfaction rate in the recently completed Customer Satisfaction Survey speaks for itself, and you all contributed to that excellence.

"People are the Force's most valuable asset. With this in mind we carry on with our drive to promote a healthy lifestyles. This includes all aspects of our health, both physical and mental and includes emphasising the need to reduce stress through financial prudence.

"Working together we will continue to serve the community to the best of our ability, ensuring that Hong Kong remains one of the safest cities in the world.

"Now you, as a member of the great team, have a chance to create a slogan for the Force demonstrating our professionalism, our dedication to service quality and instilling a sense of pride in our achievements.

"The Slogan Design Competition is open to all disciplined and civilian staff. Chinese and English entries will be accepted. You can enter on an individual basis or on a team basis (not more than three persons). Please refer to the scheme details on POINT or the posters. You can either submit the e-form on POINT or download the e-form from POINT and return it to SQW on or before July 31.

"Let's join hands to keep our spirits high!" concluded Mr Wong.
