I believe that you all have used the Internet Explorer (IE) browser to browse through the web before. So let's talk about some tips on using IE.
Add a Website Address to "Favorites"
We can store the addresses of our favorite websites into the IE's "Favorites". I think you should have used this function before. In fact, there is a shortcut key to quicken this action.
To quickly add the address of a website to "Favorites", you can go to the website and then press <CTRL> + <D> simultaneously, as simple as that.
Make a Backup of "Favorites"
After you have kept a number of addresses in "Favorites", you may want to make a backup of the list. This can be done by the "Import / Export Wizard".
1.Start IE, and then select "File" and click "Import and Export";
2.Click the "Next" button on the "Import and Export Wizard" window. Then select "Export Favorites" in the list of "Choose an action to perform";
4.Click "Next" and then "Finish" followed by "OK" to close the window.
Scroll a Web Page using Shortcut Keys
It is rather cumbersome to use the scroll bars of IE to browse through a relatively long web page, you can find the following shortcut keys in IE to help you.
Set the Days for Keeping the History List
There may be a lot of website addresses accumulated in the history list after some time. You may ask whether you can clear the list or shorten the duration for keeping this list. The answer is "YES". Actually you can follow the steps below to clear the list and change the number of days for keeping this list instantly.
1.Start IE, and then select "Tools" on the toolbar and click "Internet Options";
2.Select the "General" tab. Then click "Clear History" in the "History" area to erase the entire list directly. You may also change the number in the input box of "Days to keep pages in history" to set duration for keeping the history list. I suggest setting it to not more than 15 days so that the history list will not grow too long which can slow down the system performance.
