Commissioner Mr Tsang Yam-pui recently presented a 'Commissioner's Commendation' to Chief Executive Officer, Mr Eric Choi Yan-sang, for his professional ability, leadership, dedication and devotion to duty of an exceptionally high order while serving as Chief Executive Officer Establishment and Civilian Staff Relations, and also organising activities for the Police Chinese Culture Club and Police Civilian Staff Club, between September 1999 and July 2003.

At the same ceremony, Mr Tsang commended the performance of two teams of officers in the detection of two major crime cases.

Woman Chief Inspector Chan Yuk-chun, Senior Inspector Lo Kwan-tung, and Sergeant Leung Yiu-keung, were commended for their leadership, professional ability and devotion to duty of an exceptionally high order displayed during a covert operation against a highly sophisticated and organised dangerous drugs trafficking syndicate in Tsuen Wan between September 1999 and February 2000, resulting in the successful neutralisation of the syndicate, seizure of 45 kilograms of mixtures of No. 4 heroin, $330,000 in cash, and manufacturing and packaging paraphernalia and the conviction of two traffickers, who were sentenced to imprisonment for six and a half years and 13 years and four months respectively.

Two other officers, Senior Inspector Andy Li Chi-kin, and Police Constable Hui Sze-hon, were commended for their professionalism and devotion to duty of an exceptionally high order displayed between December 2000 and December 2001 during an anti-triad operation leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of four dangerous drugs traffickers, 15 active triad members and the consequent neutralisation of two notorious triad gangs in Tsuen Wan.
