Scores of wreaths, many from senior Government officials and business and community leaders, were laid at the funeral parlour.

Shortly before midnight on August 12, Mr Wong was on his way to the scene of a traffic accident on Po Lam Road. In a statement released shortly after Mr Wong's death, Mr Tsang said: "I extend my deepest sympathy to his wife, family and colleagues. The Force would make every effort to help his family during this time of sadness."

Mr Wong, 24, is survived by his wife. His family members have extended their gratitude and appreciation to all Force members for their full support and assistance in helping them to get through this difficult period.

In an interview with OffBeat, Senior Superintendent Traffic (Kowloon East) Mr Patrick Leung Fui praised Mr Wong's performance and contribution to E&CDIV. His teammate, Sergeant Mr Lo Sui-cheung, also described Mr Wong as a hardworking and helpful team member. Mr Wong led a healthy lifestyle and was fond of sports.
