In this last issue of IE tips, I will continue introducing more useful functions to let you have a comprehensive view of it.

Change the Font Type of a Web Page
(only applicable to web pages without default font types)

Have you realised that many web pages are using the same font type? It looks a bit boring, doesn't it? Try the following to change into the font type you like most:

1.Select "Tools" on the menu bar and then click "Internet Options";

2.Select the "General" tab and press the "Fonts" button. Choose the font you like from the list under "Web Page Font" in the "Fonts" window;

3.Click "OK" twice to close the "Fonts" window and the "Internet Options" window.

Find information within a web page

When you are looking for information in a relatively long web page, I believe that you will possibly scroll up and down the web page to look for it. But this method is quite slow. In fact, you can make use of the "Find" function of IE to help you locate the information instantly. For example, if you want to locate information about "Hong Kong" in a web page, you can follow the steps below:

1.Select "Edit" on the menu bar and then click the "Find (on this page)" option;

2.Type the keyword of the information in the "Find what" input field in the "Find" window. Then choose "Up" or "Down" in the "Direction" box. After pressing the <Enter> key, IE will highlight the first keyword found in the web page. To continue searching by the same keyword, just simply press the "Find next" button.

Print the Web Page

To print a web page, such as an OffBeat article on the web, just move the mouse pointer to any white space of the article and then right click the mouse. Select "Print" from the shortcut menu and the printer will print out the article automatically.

Print All Documents Linked to a Web Page

If you would like to print all documents linked to a web page, you can follow the steps as follows:

1.When the web page is shown, select "File" on the menu bar and then click the "Print" option;

2.Check the "Print All Linked Documents" box in the "Print" window.

3.Press the "OK" button to start printing.

Maximise the Display Area of the Web Page

Since the size of a monitor is usually between 14" and 17" and IE will display the "address bar", the "menu bar", etc on the screen, the display area for the web page is relatively very small. To maximise the display area, I suggest the following:

1.Select "View" on the menu bar and then click "Full Screen", or simply press the <F11> key;

2.To restore into the original format, you can either click the "Restore" icon on the top right-hand corner of the screen (as circled in the figure below) or press the <F11> key again.

Up to here, the whole series of "Useful Tips on Computer Usage" has come to an end. Starting from next issue, we will look at the latest hot topic - computer virus.
