The 90th Kowloon Scout Group that was established on September 23, 1963, celebrated its 40th anniversary with a presentation ceremony-cum-exhibition at the Indoor Sports Hall, Police Sports and Recreation Club in September.

The Assistant Chief Commissioner (International & Liaison) of the Scout Association of Hong Kong, Mr Eddie Hui, and Assistant Commissioner (Personnel), Mr Chan Wai-ki, officiated at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Chan thanked the Group leaders for training Police children for the past four decades, and called on them to continue supporting the 90th Kowloon Scout Group. He also pledged that the Force would continue supporting Police children's scouting activities.

The 90th Kowloon Scout Group was the first Police children scout group founded with the assistance of the Police Welfare Branch to provide Force members'children (both disciplined and civilian) with an extra-curricular programme for their all-rounded personality development. The Group has evolved from a scout troop to a mixed one with five units, namely Grasshopper Rings, Cub Packs, Scout Troops, Venture Scout Units, and Rover Scout Crews. It now has a membership of 180.
