Following the success of the television docu-drama series, "On the Beat", the second part of the series made its debut on the Jade Channel of TVB on October 5.

The remaining episodes of the series will be shown on seven consecutive Sundays until November 23.

Jointly produced by the Force and Radio Television Hong Kong, "On the Beat" was launched early this year, and has been well received by the public. One of the episodes, entitled "Suddenness of Life", has won the Silver Plaque at the 39th Chicago International Television Awards. Encouraged by the success, the Force and RTHK have again jointly produced Part II of "On the Beat" sourcing from real crime cases as it was the case with Part I.

The main theme of "On the Beat-II" is to disseminate the messages of "The Evil will not prevail over the Good" and "Justice has a long arm". Its storyboard is based on four real cases of sensational crimes, namely the Shui Tau Tsuen Shooting, Chain Murders of Prostitutes, Fortress Hill Road Shooting and Cross-boundary Dangerous Drug Trafficking.
