Public reminded to stay alert |

Police Public Relations Branch Chief Superintendent and Chairman of the Fight Crime Committee Publicity Sub-Committee, Mr Tang How-kong, appealed to the public to stay alert and take good care of their belongings.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the second phase of the Fight Crime Publicity Campaign 2003/04 on October 25, Mr Tang stressed that prevention of crime, in particular miscellaneous thefts, is always of prime concern to the Police.
The current publicity drive had adopted anti-miscellaneous thefts as its theme, he noted.
"Many of these theft cases, including pickpocketing and theft from vehicles, could have been prevented if the victims have taken good care of their belongings," said Mr Tang.
To effectively drive the message home, a Television Announcement in the Public Interest (API) featuring three scenarios of prevalent thefts was premiered during the ceremony.
A wide range of supporting publicity materials, including radio APIs, posters, wall banners, newspaper and bus advertising, will also echo the campaign message.
The current publicity drive has adopted the slogan of "Take Good Care of Your Belongings".
