Force delegation attends tripartite meeting |

A 12-member delegation led by Director of Crime & Security, Mr Chau Foo-cheong, has recently attended the Seventh Tripartite (Hong Kong - Guangdong - Macao) Meeting in Foshan, Guangdong. Macao was represented at the meeting by a delegation of 14 senior police officers. The Deputy Director of the Ministry of Public Security CID Office, Mr An Weixing, had attended the meeting as a guest. At the meeting, Assistant Commissioner (Crime), Mr Lo Yik-kee, had discussed major issues with representatives of the other two sides, including cooperation in combating violent crime, trafficking in and the abuse of psychotropic drugs, triad and other organised crime activities. Another significant topic of mutual concern discussed during the meeting was the impact of the "Individual Visitors Scheme" on law and order in Hong Kong and Macao. The representatives had also taken time to visit the Police Dog Breeding and Training Centre of the Foshan Municipal Public Security Bureau and shared their experience of preventing and detecting crime with the help of police dogs. The Force will host the next meeting, which is scheduled for March 2004.
