Officers of the Kowloon West Emergency Unit (KW EU) conducted a donation drive during the recent festive season to raise funds for the poor students in remote mountainous areas on the Mainland.

Initiated by KW EU Superintendent, Mr Chan Ka-kit, and Chief Inspector, Mr Lee Kiu-ki, the drive was actively supported by all KW EU members, including civilian staff, who had donated a total of $10,300.

At a ceremony held at KW EU base on January 27, Acting KW EU Superintendent, Mr Lee Kiu-ki, officially handed over the donations to the Chairman of "Friends of Hope Education Fund" founded by Force members, Senior Superintendent Wong Hung-tak.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Wong thanked the KW EU for supporting the donation drive, and hoped that the spirit of the drive would be passed on to all Force members.

In August this year, a 13-day fund-raising walkathon from Kunming to Lijiang will be organised for the "Friends of Hope Education Fund", and donations and support for this worthy cause would be most welcome.
